A story of life and love

Writer's picture: enasworthy@me.comenasworthy@me.com

I want to share some thoughts and observations with you today. Somewhere in history past, before this world was created a story of life and love began. Before we could ever imagine, a decision was made. Life and love became the center point of a new world that was soon to be. All of the “what if” questions were asked and even when the answer was not what was desired a solution was given.

For more years than man can even think or imagine, God determined and then acted out of a desire to have a personal relationship with His creation. How could it be that anyone would not want the same thing? Relationship, blessing, joy, peace. Yet since early on there has been a voice that has said “I want what I want”. A voice that has spoken out loudly and found many an ear to hear, to reason evil over good.

God is the producer of life and I think that probably all who read this agree on that truth. If you don't or even have questions please read on and allow God to speak to you through His Word.

God is the One who produced the life of everything. Today I am using the New Living Transition for the Scripture verses which are presented.

As seen in Genesis 1:1 the Word of God declares it-

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth

.

God is the One who produced the life of animals.

Look here at Genesis 1:20-22

20 Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.”

21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird—each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.

22 Then God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.”

and 24-25

24 Then God said, “Let the earth produce every sort of animal, each producing offspring of the same kind—livestock, small animals that scurry along the ground, and wild animals.” And that is what happened.

25 God made all sorts of wild animals, livestock, and small animals, each able to produce offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.

God is the One who produced the life of man.

We read in Genesis 1:26-28

26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

27 So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

God, the producer of life as we have just seen is-

Incomparable

Infinite

Invisible

Omnipotent

Omnipresent

Omniscient

Unchangeable

Unequaled

Unsearchable

He is all of this and so much more.

In his letter to the church in Rome, the Apostle Paul said in Romans 6:23-

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Isaiah 14:12-20 we learn of the origin of the promoter of self. Look at how Isaiah describes him-

12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world.

13 For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.

14 I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’

15 Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths.

16 Everyone there will stare at you and ask, ‘Can this be the one who shook the earth and made the kingdoms of the world tremble?

17 Is this the one who destroyed the world and made it into a wasteland? Is this the king who demolished the world’s greatest cities and had no mercy on his prisoners?’

18 “The kings of the nations lie in stately glory, each in his own tomb,

19 but you will be thrown out of your grave like a worthless branch. Like a corpse trampled underfoot, you will be dumped into a mass grave with those killed in battle. You will descend to the pit.

20 You will not be given a proper burial, for you have destroyed your nation and slaughtered your people. The descendants of such an evil person will never again receive honor.

You know his name and titles-

Lucifer

Devil

Satan

Beelzebub

Murder

Prince of the power of the air

And many more.

Isaiah tells us what he determined in his heart in Isaiah 14:13-14-

13 For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.

14 I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’

In a poem entitled “The Perfect Story” Roberto Ornan Roche said-

“They wanted the “perfect” story, without miracles and without churches, so that sin did not seem so bad, nor the Christians so good; where the suffering one, the abandoned one, and the ordinary one did not count. A story to give meaning to the vanity of the World and to open the doors equally to all experiences.”

Just as Satan is committed to “I want what I want” he promotes it to mankind. What was the solution to the “what if” question?

“If we create man in our image, knowing that Lucifer will promote himself and be cast from heaven and then will deceive man, what do We do?”

“The solution will be, as Jesus Himself told the day after feeding 5,000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish. That next day when they saw Him on the other side of the Sea of Galilee. When they asked Him about having more bread to eat. That He was the bread of life; He would meet the needs in life.

John 6:35-40

35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

36 But you haven’t believed in me even though you have seen me.

37 However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them.

38 For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will.

39 And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day.

40 For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”

The story of life and love began in the heart of God and each day His love is expressed to mankind through His Son Jesus Christ. We know that God in the beginning created this world. So we find peace and assurance in knowing that-

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

And here is the power of that statement by Jesus Himself-

17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

As I come to the end of this today I am again blessed, strengthened, and assured that God has all of this that is going on around us in His hands, and thus His control. God's got this!!!

In God's Grace,

Elbert Nasworthy
