The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition says that a thought is-
The process of thinking; cogitation.
A product of thinking or other mental activity: synonym: idea.
The faculty of thinking or reasoning.
Thoughts are something we all have. When I began to write and make public thoughts I called them and still do "Thoughts to ponder". That is the idea of having the thoughts and then spending time considering or thinking about them.
Personally I do this a lot and it's not because I don't have other things to do, for those of you who might ask, I have these thoughts and I ponder them. I am wanting to see how far and to what degree they may be important to act on or to remember from past experience in order for the future use. I must admit I am not really sure where that all came from but I am glad I was able to get it out using some very basic English.
I don't know if all of this is because I have reached a point in my life that there is more road behind me than in front of me. Because I do often have thoughts about the past. Remembering the ways things used to be and coming to quick realization they will never be that way again. The term innocence lost comes to mind right now. We have as a world truly lost our innocence. It is so disheartening and appalling to hear and sometimes even see what is happening around us.
I know that this is not really a new area of discussion for me with you. There is no apology for it because I am sharing with you my thoughts and I do hope you will ponder them for yourself.
As a Christian these thoughts often lead to the end of time. That is the end of the world as we know it now which we have spoken of before. Most, but not all civilizations and peoples, believe that there is an end coming to this world. Probably if we knew the truth and understood it more it would all stem to a time in history where the God of creation was known by mankind. I am the first to admit to the idea that not all believed and certainly not all followed His direction. I mean even the chosen people, the Hebrew people, rejected and turned from God time and time again.
As a creation of God and one that He truly loves, mankind has and is a real disappointment to God. It has been from the very beginning with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. That is an interesting side bar as there are even in secular writings a reference to the garden of Eden. It is has been a mystical place in the mind of some. Could it be because man truly does know there is a God that they should know and serve? I'm just saying that for all that mankind does to deny God they sure do spend a a lot of time referencing Him in this creation of His.
If you think about it, it is so true. Mankind acknowledges the devil. Lucifer is a created being that made the decision he wanted to be god. Mankind acknowledges hell as a place of torment. It was created by God for the devil and his Matthew 25:42 ESV-
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
Have you heard people say that things are so bad that it seems like hell on earth? I know I have and that tells me that for whatever reason they know or at least sense there is more to this life and it is beyond here.
People all over the world are looking for something after this life. Some deny there is anything and then there are people like me who believe God and His Word. I know there is another world and that it will be eternal with God.
This morning as I awoke and was lying in bed I was thinking about life. We get up everyday and we love life. We have plans and we attempt to accomplish them. We make plans for days that we are not quranteed but on the outside chance they occur we have an idea of what we might do. I love our life and how God is the center piece of it and that what we do today or plan for the future is and will be within His plan for our lives. That is an important place for you and I to be in our relationship with God. As a matter of fact, if we want to truly love the life the way God wants us to, it is the only way to go.
In God's Grace,
